While dinosaurs ruled the land, the Jurassic seas were filled with creatures just as terrifying. Plesiosaurs with snake-like necks. Ichthyosaurs built like dolphins but far more deadly. And above it all — pterosaurs ruled the skies. Not dinosaurs, but their close cousins.

NOT dinosaurs — but closely related. They were the first vertebrates to evolve powered flight. Wings made of skin stretched over a long fourth finger. Ranged from sparrow-sized to 10+ metres wingspan.

Long-necked aquatic reptiles — NOT dinosaurs. They "flew" through the water using four large flippers. Some reached 15 metres long. They inspire the Loch Ness Monster legend.
FISH-LIZARDS
🐟 ICHTHYOSAURS
Dolphin-shaped reptiles that were fully adapted to the sea — they even gave birth live in the water. Huge eyes for deep-sea hunting. Some had eyes 30cm across — the largest of any vertebrate.
